Starting October and given the increased demand for air cargo space to Montevideo, Lufthansa will increase its weekly frequencies from Frankfurt totaling three per week. This is a significant milestone for Uruguay as a logistic services destination, given it has been seeing for the last number of years a considerable increase in its inbound volumes. This has been in great part due to the increase in cargo in transit, given the number of global organizations currently distributing to the region via Uruguay.
Lufthansa will arrive with a Boeing 777 with a capacity of 100 tons, providing an increase in the connectivity that will continue boosting Uruguay’s positioning as a highly competitive location for regional distribution.
At MVD Free Airport, we celebrate this significant milestone and congratulate Lufthansa for the continuous support and contribution to Uruguay’s strategic positioning as a world-class logistic destination.
